Silkscreen prints on acrylic, wood and Fabriano

An exploration of the layers to the urban fabric, both in a physical sense, and from a cultural viewpoint.

The area represented physically through the layered nature of the pieces, the sensory environment of noise, lights, and movement and purpose of the area of the junction at Broadstone, Dublin 7.

The starkness of religious statue in it’s placement above Broadstone junction acts as a reflection of Ireland’s changing cultural values. The current state of the statue in contrast with the area it it stands in: Commuters passing by, unaware of its presence. The harsh architecture of Constitution Hill council housing, towering streetlights, traffic at one of Dublin’s busiest junctions leading to the inner city.
